Cooking with Coke

You’d be hard pressed to find someone who has never heard of Coke, and who doesn’t recognize the iconic logo. Coca-Cola has been a part of peoples lives, and therefore memories, for generations.  My own father collects the antique bottles and displays them on his mantel in the living room.

I remember years ago, when we first moved away from NY and ended up in Georgia- we went out to eat and the waitress asked me what kind of Coke I wanted.  I was unaware that in the south it’s common for people to refer to all soda as ‘Coke’.

When I think of cooking with Coke, my mind immediately goes to the recipe where you substitute a Diet Coke in the place of the oil, eggs and water with a box of chocolate cake mix- cutting the calories.  I’ve also heard of people cooking chicken and other meats in Coke and raving about it, but have never tried it myself because I didn’t have the recipe.  That is, until now, thanks to the Cooking with Coke site!

But now, Coca-Cola has launched a brand new website called Cooking with Coke- where you can find recipes, build a cookbook, and find tips to get the whole family involved in mealtime.  There are even celebrity chefs sharing their stories!

To encourage you to check out the new Cooking with Coke website, Coca-Cola would like to offer one of my readers a gorgeous red T-Fal Steamer!   I just love this steamer, not only because of the color, but you can use the stockpot on it’s own for huge batches of pasta, stews, soups, etc.

Would you like to win your own T-Fal Steamer?  It’s easy!  Just go to the Cooking with Coke website, and either add your own favorite family recipe or find a new one there that you’d like to try.  Come back here and leave a comment with the link to it.  Do this by June 18th.  Winner will be drawn June 19th.  US only, please!
