Previously on Fashion Chat, we discussed The Shrug.  Today, I have something even more mind-boggling.  Bandals.Perhaps you’re wondering just what exactly is a bandle, so I thought I’d share some photos.

Boots + Sandals = Bandals.   At least that’s what I am calling them.  Feel free to correct me if there is some other terminology for this… creation.

If your toes sweat while your ankles freeze, this is the footwear for you.

I just don’t get it.  Why?

Now before you jump me and tell me I’m a fool for not understanding this current fashion trend, I just want to lay out this disclaimer.  I don’t consider myself knowledgeable of what is hot and what is not, I don’t follow the celebrities and buy clothes because they are sporting something, and I don’t usually care about name brands.  So perhaps I’m just out of the loop.

I mean, I know I wear boots when it’s snowing or raining, to protect my feet and lower legs from the elements.  I’ve worn them while riding on motorcycles for protection.  So what exactly are these for?  One might say they’re fashionable, but to me they just look ridiculous.  They even come in high heels.

So could someone tell me how this is a good idea?  I first noticed them on Zulily awhile back, for little girls.  Then the other day while I was wandering the mall, I saw women wearing them!  So it can’t be just a trend in high-fashion cities if it’s reached our little dinky town.

Do people really think these are attractive?  Am I that out of touch?  I can’t be the only one who finds these shoes hideous.
