We have been discussing getting new living room furniture for a long time now. Ours is old and beat up thanks to so many kids and years of abuse. But after some discussion, we decided it might be best to wait another year or two until the twins are a bit bigger.
As a compromise, we decided to get slipcovers for the couch and love seat. Our couches are blue, but I saw these soft dark red slipcovers and decided to go with a new color. They are stretchy and elastic and seem to fit nice and stay in place.
Our living room carpet is a light beige (and stains so easily!), so we also bought a throw rug that is darker and has the red and beige in it to cover it up. The boys ended up loving the rug- they drive their cars around on the circles.
We grabbed a few super soft beige throw pillows. They’re over-sized, and the kids are loving them on the floor when they play or watch TV.
And last but totally not least- we bought a dark brown rocker/recliner lounge chair. It’s so comfortable!
So with a little rearranging to fit the new chair in, we have an entirely new living room.
I wish I’d thought to take before and after photos, but all I have is the one from during the process and another of the kids stealing my chair.

You cant have nice furniture when you have more than 1 young child or more than a single pet, its something I have realised through years of experiance, they wont stay that way for long. You are better off with the throws, good call!
