Step2 sent us an amazing toy- the Tropical Island Resort Water Table. When the temperatures decided to climb up to a million degrees the other day, we decided to pull it out and put it together for the twins. With Aaron and I working together, it only took a little bit to assemble, and before long the boys were outside splashing away. Neighbor kids even came by to try it out.
The boys dove right in, rearranging the various toys like the merry go round, slide and diving board for the little people that were included to play on. They took turns dumping water on each other using the cup and the boat. And they giggled like crazy when they pumped the geyser and it squirted their bellies.
They figured out that when you pour water on the palm tree, the monkey and the gears spin. The table is the ideal height for my guys, and I love the fact that there”s a drain plug on the bottom so I don’t have to try to tip the table over to empty it.
It wasn’t long before both Dylan and Ryan were drenched- this is definitely an outside toy! They helped each other get their soggy sneakers and socks off, and before long they were both in just diapers and back to playing at the water table.
This water table is a sturdy one- at one point I had to pull both twins out of it because they’d climbed in to play. You know it’s solidly built if it can hold two toddlers! My only complaint is that I wish the slide, diving board, and merry go round were permanently attached. They pop off a little easily.
