After ten years of being stationed in North Carolina, we have orders. A decade is a really long time for a military family to stay put in one area! Usually people stay two or three years. When we got here, Lili was about four months old, and of course Mia and the twins weren’t even born yet. We’ve accumulated so much junk in addition to kids over the years!
Despite the fact that Aaron is in the USMC, our orders are for an Air Force Base located in New Jersey- McGuire. While living in NJ has never exactly been on my bucket list, the location is not only close to my family in New York, but also to Ryan’s doctors in Philly.
I did a little research into the available base housing there, and the four bedroom that we would be assigned to based on Aaron’s rank is almost twice the square feet as the one we’re in here. I’m really excited about that!
The one part of this move that I’m not looking forward to? The timing. We will report in January. I’m due February 6th, but have a history of going early. The girls came 5 weeks early- that would be January 2nd. The twins came 7 weeks early- December 19th. I’m predicting bed rest- and probably hospitalization- like in the past. Also, a preemie needing a bit of NICU time.
And all of this will occur right in the midst of our move.
Thankfully, the military packs and moves all of our household belongings, and Aaron can clear housing here without me if it comes down to it. He’ll also have a good amount of leave for when we arrive in NJ to handle getting everyone enrolled and set up in school, at the doctors, and whatever else needs to be done.
I guess I should start working on my big hair and fake tan…

No way!! I’m in NJ. I’m not sure how far you’ll be from me, but you know if you ever need anything when you move… just lemme know.
lol
LMAO
You’ll be an hour from me. I promise you, Jersey is great.
Yay! Pretty close to me in Rhode Island
Is there anyway to report sooner?
Wow, that is a big move while pregnant or with a new born. You are much braver than me. Love that the house will be so much bigger!
Life is an adventure . . .
I’m very happy! You crack me up! Should we think of a nickname for the jersey shore for you? Too bad J-Wow is already taken!
Wohooo you will be close to me!!!! Road trip and I’ll get to see the babies finally!!!!
Awesome! I have a friend who was on bedrest during a move and they actually flew her (thinking life flight kind of thing where she had nurses and stuff) to the new duty station. Good Luck however it works out!
Dude, didn’t you guys JUST move earlier this year?
Good luck with it all! At least you have the military support system for help with packing and moving!
Lmao the real housewife and tatertots in Nj hehe! !!!
Say hello to Snooki for me
Wow! What an adventure. It’s good that you’re going to be near your family. As far as the baby, I second the idea of maybe going up earlier? Even staying with your mom, so that you won’t be as far away from Jersey?
The big hair and fake tan line cracked me up, and now Daniel is demanding that I tell him what I’m laughing at, and I know he just won’t understand, lol.
I can’t believe you guys have been there for ten years already. I am happy for this new chapter in your lives and hope it will be rewarding for you all.
