The kids had picture day at school a few weeks back, so now I’m tasked with the decision whether or not to purchase four sets of overpriced snapshots for posterity. The girls- well they picked their own clothes and did their own hair this year, so I’m not exactly eager to spend money on theirs. But the twins have never done school photos before- in fact, I think the last time they ever had their portraits done was when they were about four months old.
But I realized something when we received the proofs- we should have prepped the boys better for the pictures. When Lili was getting her first school portraits done, I remember having her practice her smile because she was in that fake weird smile phase. We got up a little extra early that day and I ran a curling iron over her hair to give it some body. We’d also picked out the outfit she’d wear a few days before, and made sure it was clean.
This year? Between the girls choosing their own clothes and not thinking about the fact that you’ll only see them from the chest up and allowing them to style their own hair, and me forgetting to throw the load of the twins clothes in the dryer the night before, the outfits are just eh. All of the cute boy clothes were sopping wet and all I could find were graphic tees and long sleeves, and it was like 90 out that day. I ended up putting them in shirts that were not my first or even fifth choice. And I guess Dylan kept giving the photographer the stank eye and refused to smile- the teacher said he didn’t warm up to him at all.
So yeah. School photos, 2012-2013:

What are you talking about? those are GREAT pics!
I agree with Marcia! I think the pics are great!!!! They capture the child perfectly –
As far as school pictures go, these are pretty good ones. I’ve taken some horrible ones in my day.
I don’t know why, but as I was scrolling down and got to Dylan’s a bust out laughing! His pic rocks!! Oh I LOVE these!!! I bought Cam’s 3rd grade pics even though he had a black eye. Wow, Lily is in 5th grade! She could be one of my 5th grade library helpers here.
I laugh every time I see Dylan’s LOL
how much are the photos? they look good to me. you have to buy them.
