Earlier today I was whining on Facebook about how my internet kept going out.  It started last night, I just kept losing the connection.  I rebooted the laptop, modem and router with no change.  My computer kept having me reset the wireless internet adapter.  I was so frustrated!

Then a friend shared a link with me- Computer Crash Test: Will Your Internet Access Come to a Screeching Halt on June 8?

I guess that explains it.  They ran out of IP addresses.

It appears to be running fine now, I hope it lasts.  I’m glad I did my Macaroni Kid newsletter yesterday afternoon and set it to publish this morning, because at least I didn’t have to worry about that not going through.

I really hate when things don’t work the way they should.

It’s my laptop.  I think it needs serious medical attention.  I can get it to boot up enough to get to the loading screen, and it plays the little music thingy… and then nothing.  And then it repeats that a few times and then I get a screen that tells me that I need to “reboot and select a proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key”.

I have been playing with it for hours, googling all the error messages and trying a thousand fixes… but so far no luck.  I just unplugged it and now I am taking a break.

I can get the reformat disc to work, but I haven’t run it because I’d like to try to save some stuff off my hard drive first if possible.  Aaron says he knows of some stuff to try, so I’ll let him at it when he gets home tonight.

In the meantime, I’m using his laptop, which means I have none of my favorites (or passwords stored :X) and can barely do anything.  It took me like 20 minutes to remember my blog log in to post this LOL

Are you all feeling my pain? I’m thinking about categorizing this post under ‘Grief and Loss’.  Hopefully it won’t be RIP for the lil Asus
