2 Year Checkup

The boys had their 2 year well baby appointment today (only a month and a half late). We asked about their lack of speech and we were referred to an audiology appointment to make sure they’re hearing properly. From there we’ll go to a speech therapist, however the pediatrician thinks that their language will just explode soon.

I also had the doctor check out Dylan’s lumpy head.  Have I mentioned his head?  It’s not nice and round and I was concerned that maybe his soft spot fused weird or too early or something.  He said that it’s symmetrical and his head circumference is on target with his height and weight, so it’s fine.  But I bet if we shaved his head he would look hysterical.

We’re still working on getting them caught up on their immunizations.  Because of Ryan’s chemo, they held off on most  of them for him, and we did the same for Dylan as well.  They both received a couple shots today towards catching up.

Stats:
Ryan: 26.4 pounds, 33.5 inches  (3.10 pounds, 17 inches at birth)
Dylan: 30.4 pounds, 34.5 inches  (4.7 pounds, 17.5 inches at birth)

Two Years Ago

I was admitted to the hospital around this date… for the first time.  I’d ended up being sent home  for a brief time before getting re-admitted and eventually having the boys. During that time, the ultrasound tech gave me a quick peek of the boys with the 3D on- the only time I’d ever had a 3D ultrasound.

This is Baby A with his lil hand up by his head
Baby A while I was pregnant turned out to be Baby B after delivery- and was Dylan.

And here’s B. The cord was floating in front of his face and kinda got in the shot- so that is why his nose looks funky.  He turned out to be our Baby A, Ryan.
The white on the left is Dylan’s head- they were snuggling.

So what do you think?  Do they look like the same kids two years later?

I don’t think these boys are going to both fit in the front of a shopping cart much longer!

Lunch with Someone You Love

Today at the elementary school, they had a sort of open house with a book fair and Lunch with Someone You Love- where the students can invite someone to come eat lunch in the cafeteria with them.  The twins, Mia, and I went to eat with Lili.  I’m sure Aaron would have either gone or watched the other kids- but he has duty.  (So I was wrong about him working his first full week- he will have a duty day off tomorrow LOL)

Mia wanted a school lunch SO badly so I let her buy one.  They had chicken sandwiches, carrot sticks, fruit, etc to pick from.  Lili only got the sandwich, a chocolate milk and an apple juice- and she barely ate the sandwich.  It’s no wonder she comes home starving when I don’t pack her lunch!  Mia on the other hand, ate everything in sight!  I sat with them and fed the boys a jar of food.

When we got home, the boys had fallen asleep in the van, so Mia and I stayed outside for awhile while they slept.  We kept the doors of the van open and Mia played in the yard.  It was so nice out!  The boys seem to like sleeping outside lately!  When they woke up I brought Ryan over and sat him on the edge of Dylan’s car seat while I unbuckled him and they started staring and laughing at each other.  So cute!  I love watching them interact.

Then we played outside for a bit.  Dylan didn’t mind the grass today, but Ryan still hated it. I brought out a receiving blanket for him to sit in and he was a bit happier.  Can you believe that these blankets were big enough to swaddle them?!

Here’s Dylan wrapped in the blanket when he was still in the NICU
