The twins keep ‘borrowing’ the girls toothbrushes instead of using their toddler ones, and it’s about time to replace all of the kids toothbrushes, so we decided to head to Walmart and get some new ones tonight. The girls are always excited about the dentist and brushing their teeth, and I hope that they pass that on to their brothers.
Colgate’s Building Smiles tour isn’t scheduled to come to our town, but if it was we’d totally go check it out. An RV comes to your Walmart and dental health volunteers provide free screenings and education. They hope to fight the rising cavity rates in kids and to build more healthy smiles! So tonight we purchased new toothbrushes for all four kids, as well as more toothpaste. I have never understood why all children’s toothpaste is fruity or bubblegum flavored, instead of mint. I know Olivia hates it and prefers to use adult toothpaste. They should make both type of flavors.
While I’m not a huge fan of the dentist, I’ve been trying to make a point to go every 6 months for cleanings as recommended. The girls always go to their appointments, and love it. Pretty soon we’ll have to bring the twins in for their first dental check up. We asked at what age to bring them last time we were there with the girls, and they said unless there’s a problem, they can go at 3.
At what age did you start bringing your child to the dentist?
